Our transfer service is the most practical and secure way to get to the parade. Forget about the stress of traffic and road closures — we handle everything so you can focus on enjoying the party!

Please note: the transfer is only available for the odd-numbered sectors of the Sambadrome (sectors 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11). We do not service the even-numbered sectors (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12) or sector 13.

During Carnival, access to the Sambadrome is highly restricted: many surrounding streets are closed to private vehicles and taxis. That's why we strongly recommend booking your transfer in advance.

Our service is specialized and has exclusive access credentials, allowing our vehicles to move freely through traffic and drop you off as close as possible to the event entrance — closer than any other type of transportation!

What we offer:

Tour guide accompanying you throughout the journey, fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish;
Pick-up from various hotels in the South Zone, Barra da Tijuca and Cruise Ship Port (Pier Mauá);
If you’re staying outside the designated pick-up points, we’ll direct you to the nearest hotel for boarding;
On the way back, you choose the best time to return: buses depart after the parade of each samba school (starting from the second school), directly from the meeting point inside the Sambadrome.

Costumes for parading are not allowed;
The transfer service does NOT cover the even-numbered sectors or sector 13.

How to get to the Sambadrome

This is one of the most frequently asked questions for those visiting Rio de Janeiro during Carnival. There are different ways to get to the Sambadrome: Our Shuttle service, Metro and taxi.

Shuttle service: The best, safest and most comfortable option is to use the round-trip transfer service that we at Rio Carnaval Tickets offer. We pick you up from over 100 hotels in Rio de Janeiro and Pier Mauá. You will be accompanied by a tour guide, providing comfort, information and security. You can make your reservation on this page.

Subway: The Sambadrome has two sides, the Even Side and the Odd Side, which we call sectors. If your ticket is for the odd side, get off at Central do Brasil Station and walk for 15 minutes to the Sambadrome. If your ticket is for the even side, get off at Praça 11 Station and walk for 8 minutes to the Sambadrome.

Taxi: There are two official taxi companies that can take you to the Sambadrome. One company serves the even-numbered sectors and the other the odd-numbered sector.
