Who says you should wait until Carnival to see the Samba Schools Rehearsals?
Samba Schools begin their preparation for the big Carnival parade several months earlier. The first samba school rehearsals start in July or August (this depends on each samba school).
Every Saturday night we visit the prestigious Salgueiro Samba School (one of the best in Rio de Janeiro) and it will be a pleasure to take you to this unforgettable experience.
Depending on your hotel, we will pick you up between 20:30 and 21:30.
On arrival at the Samba School Rehearsal, a comfortable table will have been reserved for you.
This magical evening will begin with an entertaining Brazilian Popular Music Band. Beautiful dancers, (baianas), talented musicians and the flag-bearing couple will introduce you to the fascinating world of Samba and Rio Carnival.
The highlight of the evening will be at about 00:30 with the presentation of the "Bateria" (rhythm section), the heart of the samba school. Sixty percussion instruments played simultaneously in perfect harmony create a wonderful rhythm of unequaled strength and joy. This rhythm is a treasure, a true cultural heritage of inestimable value.

The Samba School Rehearsals start halfway through the year. Each school is free to choose the beginning of the activities. For those visiting Rio de Janeiro, this is a tour not to be missed.
Samba Schools are spread all over the city and neighbouring municipalities. Our tour visits the Salgueiro Samba School, one of the most traditional of Rio's Carnival.
Carnival parade dates 2022: Access Group 25 and 26 February ,Special Group 27 and 28 February, Champions Parade 05 March

Carnival is a big industry that creates jobs for thousands of people.
Unfortunately the pandemic cancelled Carnival 2021 and brought great difficulties for the Samba Schools and those who work with this event, but this is past.
Carnival 2022 will take place normally and promises to be unforgettable!
